questions

Pricing FAQ.

What's actually different between Free and Pro?
Free gets you the whole computer at a shared address — computer.com/you/. Pro gives you your own address: you.computer.com as a real subdomain, and you@computer.com as a real email. Same computer, better nameplate. And no query meter.
Is you@computer.com a real email address?
Yes. Full inbound, outbound, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, standard IMAP/SMTP, mobile clients — the works. Not a forwarding trick. Your address lives on our mail infrastructure.
What happens to my name if I cancel?
You keep the name for 30 days after cancellation — plenty of time to reactivate. After that, it goes back into the pool. Your data stays exportable throughout.
What about premium names — ai.computer.com, store.computer.com?
Category and short generic names are reserved and released via sealed auction, not first-come first-served. Trademarks are permanently locked to the trademark holder. Full list at launch.
Can I use my computer.com subdomain outside computer.com?
Yes — your subdomain is a real DNS zone with delegation rights. You can point it wherever you like, and if we ever cease operations you get advance notice, a full export, and portable DNS records.
Why are Teams and Pro priced so close?
On purpose. If Teams were 2× Pro, small crews would just share a login. Making Teams a small step over Pro means bringing your team is a no-brainer, not a budget review.
What about GPUs, VMs, and other add-ons?
Detailed per-second pricing is coming with the full launch. For now, if you need GPU or dedicated infrastructure, talk to us and we'll set you up.
Do you offer credits or discounts for startups?
Yes. Startups can apply for the Computer.com for Startups program at launch. Free Pro for the founding team plus a credit budget. Details at launch.
